Born in Catania, Italy, Dr. Lorenzo Minniti is a graduate of Towson State University (Maryland) and the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, where he completed his Dental degree and his Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency. He worked one year for the United States Navy in Virginia Beach, providing dental services to Navy and Marine Corps personnel and then moved to Alexandria, Virginia, as an associate. Postdoctoral studies include implant training at Montefiore Hospital in New York and advanced Cosmetic Dentistry at the Nash Institute of Dental Learning in Charlotte, NC.
His on-going studies include new concepts in minimally-invasive dental techniques, implant dentistry and bone grafting. Dr. Minniti is married to Dr. Petula Hom; they have two children, Eva and Salvatore. The couple is an annual sponsor of the Fundraising BIKE MS. When not working, Dr. Minniti enjoys biking, running, triathlons, traveling and photography. Dr. Lorenzo Minniti, DDS has received the Mastership Award from the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr Minniti is a big proponent in continuing education. This prestigious honor is achieved by completing 1,100 hours of continuing education in the 16 disciplines of general dentistry, including over 400 hours of hands on clinical skills training. The Academy of General Dentistry is a national association of general dentists, and Mastership is the highest honor that can be attained in this organization. Less than 3,000 dentists nationwide hold MAGD status.
